ORLANDO, Fla. -- A tourist from Massachusetts is dead after he was struck by a Disney bus in the parking lot of a resort hotel at Walt Disney World, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the accident happened at the Port Orleans Resort, located on Disney property.
According to witnesses, just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, the bus was driving in the parking lot when Robert Kruger, 69, of Yarmouthport, Mass., stepped into its path and was knocked to the ground.
The crash remains under investigation, but troopers said charges are not likely.
Disney issued a statement shortly after the accident.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the guests' family and loved ones. We are doing all we can for them during this difficult time," the company said.
