Now you may 'not' get wet: Walt Disney World's Splash Mountain alters its splash.

01 May 2011 by Danny Cox Disney World Travel Tips Examiner.

Upon entering the Splash Mountain in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, there is a sign that states "You May Get Wet." While that certainly holds true for some point in the attraction, there are some Disney purists that may be upset at the fact a certain change has now been made that won't get you wet all the time.

Those that have ridden the ride before know that upon getting on and going around one of the first bends, guests get a clear look at the big drop at the end first hand. Guest go in a semi-circle around the front and have to be careful not to get wet as water cannons shoot water into the air as the logs come rushing down the mountain.

It appears that has now changed.

WDWMagic.com is reporting that the change has come about since Splash Mountain reopened after its refurbishment earlier in the year. While the cannon still fires water, the video shows that the water just doesn't quite make it to the approaching logs full of guests.

Kind of disappointing, but maybe it won't be a permanent change. It could have just been for the colder weather months, but it wasn't something that stopped them before. Only time will tell if this will remain or if we will go back to fighting over who sits on that side of the log.
