Walt Disney World has resurrected an early year promotional ticket for Florida residents — though it has raised the price significantly.
Disney has begun selling "4 Day Wild 4 Disney" passes for $119 plus tax per adult. The passes are good for four days of single-park admission between Jan. 2 and May 22 (with blackout dates during the always busy week before Easter, which this year will fall on April 24).
It's a 20 percent increase from the $99 "4 Day Dream Pass" Disney offered early last year. Then again, it's about 5 percent less than the resort charged for a "Play 4 Days" pass at the beginning of 2008, just as the global recession began.
Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., also hiked prices for a similar promotion, lifting the price a two-day ticket for Southern California residents from $72 last year to $99 this year, according to the Orange County Register.
The annual promotions help Disney boost attendance in its theme parks during the slower months between the end of the holidays and the start of summer.
